CRI Ireland’s Grants & Supports hub helps businesses understand the landscape of Irish enterprise supports and identify the organisation responsible for the current programme. Grant names, eligibility rules, deadlines and eligible costs change, so always confirm the current official programme before applying or committing expenditure.

How to use the hub

Start with the type of support you need: feasibility, startup funding, expansion, export development, digitalisation, sustainability, energy efficiency, working capital or business loans. Read the CRI guide for terminology and preparation, then continue to the current programme owner for the application rules.

Common support organisations

Irish businesses may encounter Local Enterprise Offices, Enterprise Ireland, SEAI, Microfinance Ireland and other national or regional bodies. The correct route depends on company size, location, sector, project purpose and programme conditions.

Preparing for a funding application

Before applying for a grant or support, define the project clearly: what problem it solves, what the business will spend money on, what outcome is expected, when the work will happen and how the project fits the programme purpose. Many schemes require approval before expenditure is committed, so read the current rules before signing contracts or paying suppliers.

Eligibility changes

Funding conditions can depend on company size, ownership, trading history, location, sector, employment, export potential, project type and previous public support. A guide written at one point in time cannot guarantee eligibility later. Always check the current programme page and, where appropriate, speak with the programme owner before applying.

Keep an application record

Save the submitted form, attachments, quotations, approval correspondence, payment records and final claim documents. A clear audit trail is useful both for the applicant and for any programme reporting requirement.

CRI’s role

CRI provides explanatory content and links between business topics. It does not award grants and cannot promise approval. The responsible public or finance organisation remains the decision-maker for its own programme.
