Terms of use

Terms of Use

Read the policy, legal and data-handling information that applies to CRI Ireland and the company directory.

These Terms of Use apply to the CRI Ireland website, company directory, business guides, statistics, forms and related services. By using the website you agree to use it lawfully and to understand the limitations described below.

Independent information service

CRI Ireland is an independent directory and is not the Companies Registration Office, Revenue, a regulator or a Government of Ireland service. Official filings, legal status and statutory obligations should be verified with the responsible authority.

No professional advice

Directory information, guides, grant summaries, statistics and other editorial content are provided for general research and education. They are not legal, tax, accounting, credit, investment, financial or regulatory advice.

Accuracy and availability

Company and programme information can change. CRI seeks to maintain useful information but does not warrant that every record is complete, current or suitable for a particular decision. Missing data should not be interpreted as proof that the underlying fact does not exist.

Acceptable use

Users must not attempt to compromise the website, bypass access controls, submit malicious content, overload the service or use automated extraction in a way that materially interferes with normal operation. Reasonable indexing by legitimate search engines is permitted subject to the site robots rules.

External links

External links are provided for convenience or source verification. A link does not imply endorsement, partnership or responsibility for the destination website.

Intellectual property

Public source data remains subject to its applicable source licence and attribution requirements. CRI’s original site design, directory presentation, editorial text, code and branding are protected to the extent permitted by law.

Changes and termination

CRI may update, remove, reorganise or restrict website features where reasonably necessary. These terms may also be updated as the service develops.

Company directory use

The company directory is intended for legitimate research, discovery and information purposes. A company appearing in a particular county, town or sector page does not constitute a recommendation, endorsement or statement about commercial quality. A registered-office location does not necessarily represent every place in which the company trades, and a sector mapping does not establish that the company performs every service commonly associated with that sector.

Automated access and search engines

CRI permits normal crawling by legitimate search engines in accordance with the published robots rules. High-volume automated extraction, scraping that degrades site performance, attempts to evade rate limits, or reuse that conflicts with source licences or CRI intellectual property may be restricted. Public source data remains subject to the licence and attribution terms that apply to that source.

User submissions

If you submit a contact message, registration enquiry, correction or other material, you are responsible for ensuring the information is lawful and reasonably accurate. Do not submit content that infringes another person’s rights, contains malware, impersonates another person or includes unnecessary sensitive information. CRI may ignore or remove abusive, irrelevant or obviously fraudulent submissions.

Account and access features

Where CRI offers account or premium-access functionality, users are responsible for maintaining control of their own access method and for notifying CRI if they suspect unauthorised use. Access rights may be suspended where necessary to protect the site, investigate abuse or enforce payment or subscription terms that have been separately agreed.

Advertising and paid services

Any advertising, premium report, registration-assistance or other paid service is separate from the underlying public company-register data. Specific commercial terms, fees, deliverables and cancellation rights should be stated at the point where the paid service is offered. Paying for a service does not alter the official company register.

Governing principles

These terms should be read with the Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Legal Notice and Data Sources & Methodology page. If a particular paid service has additional written terms, those specific terms apply to that service in addition to these general website terms.
