Legal information

Legal Notice

Read the policy, legal and data-handling information that applies to CRI Ireland and the company directory.

CRI Ireland is an independent commercial/informational directory. It is not affiliated with the Companies Registration Office unless a page expressly states a specific sourced relationship, and it does not represent the Government of Ireland.

Official records

Where CRI displays CRO-derived information, the original register remains the authoritative source. Visitors making legal, compliance, credit or transaction decisions should verify the official record directly.

Directory classifications

County, town, sector and company-type pages are designed to help users navigate a large dataset. Sector labels may be derived from broad NACE mappings and should not be treated as legal determinations of business activity.

Editorial content

Business guides and grant pages are independent explanatory material. Programme owners can change rules, deadlines and eligibility. Check the current official programme page before applying or committing expenditure.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CRI does not accept responsibility for loss arising solely from reliance on an incomplete, outdated or incorrectly interpreted directory field where the user could reasonably verify the matter at the authoritative source.

Contact

Use the Contact page for questions about CRI’s own presentation, content or services. Corrections to official source records may need to be made with the relevant authority.

Trade names and government references

References to the Companies Registration Office, CRO, Revenue, Enterprise Ireland, Local Enterprise Offices, SEAI, Microfinance Ireland or other organisations are used for source attribution, explanation or navigation. They do not imply that CRI is operated by, endorsed by or officially partnered with those organisations unless a specific page expressly states an actual relationship.

Company names and trademarks

Company names shown in the directory are used to identify records. The inclusion of a company or brand name does not give CRI ownership of that name or mark. Rights in company names, logos and trademarks remain with their respective owners. CRI does not normally use company logos as part of the core directory record unless there is a lawful and appropriate basis to do so.

Source licences and attribution

Public datasets can be made available under specific licences. CRI should preserve any attribution required by the applicable source licence and distinguish source data from CRI’s own code, page design, database structure, editorial writing and derived directory presentation. The source licence for a public dataset does not automatically grant unrestricted rights in a third-party website’s presentation or proprietary enrichment.

Company status and due diligence

A status label displayed by CRI reflects the imported dataset at the time of the relevant source update. It should not be used as the sole basis for extending credit, signing a material contract, confirming regulatory approval or deciding whether legal proceedings can be brought. Those decisions require current source verification and, where appropriate, professional advice.

Grant and support information

Funding schemes can be amended, paused or closed. CRI may summarise programme information for educational purposes, but the responsible organisation controls eligibility, application procedures and funding decisions. A CRI page cannot guarantee that an applicant qualifies or that funding will be awarded.

Reporting a legal concern

Use the Contact page to report a concern about CRI’s own content, a possible rights issue or a misleading presentation. Identify the exact URL and explain the issue clearly. Where the matter concerns an official register entry rather than CRI’s own presentation, the appropriate official authority may need to be contacted directly.
